The desaturated green/blue color of the metal pipes is reflective of a cold, industrialized style, contrasted against the bricks on which it is laid.

The even darker, nearly completely grey hue of the pipe in the foreground brings the feeling of cold metal front and center, giving emphasis to the industrial objects found within the otherwise organic setting.

The final splash of color occurs in stark contrast to the others, as it targets the more natural and organic bricks composing the background. The plain white pipes now stand out more than ever from the backdrop on which they're found, providing the greatest separation between the industrial and urban components within the picture.
